Oracle Retail is seeking to recruit a Senior Application/Technical Consultant to join their EMEA Merchandise Planning & Optimisation team, working with the highly configurable, multi-dimensional, Retail Predictive Application Server (RPAS) platform.  The Senior Application Consultant is responsible for analysing business requirements and configuring solutions on RPAS.  Successful candidates will be able to demonstrate their aptitude to understand and construct customised RPAS solutions.

 

Brief Description

Intermediate consulting position operating independently with some assistance and guidance to provide quality work products to a project team or customer that comply with Oracle methodologies and practices. Performs standard duties and tasks with some variation to implement Oracle products and technology to meet customer specifications.

Detailed Description

Standard assignments are accomplished without assistance by exercising independent judgment, within defined policies and processes, to deliver functional and technical solutions on moderately complex customer engagements.

Job Requirements


2-5 years of overall experience in relevant functional or technical roles. Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience. Product or technical expertise relevant to practice focus. Ability to communicate effectively and build rapport with team members and clients. Ability to travel as needed.

 

Responsibilities

·   Work with clients to understand business, functional and data requirements

·   Translate business needs to configuration specifications, including the development of creative solutions to meet complex business requirements

·   Implement and unit tests the RPAS solution configuration

·   Lead or participate in data integration workshops as required

·   Develop RPAS-side integration processes, including shell script implementation

·   Support client-side business and technical project teams throughout the implementation life-cycle

·   Provide knowledge transfer to customer teams as required

·   Design, develop and document application/technical architecture in accordance with the client’s requirements

·   Build and maintain relationships at the relevant levels in the client’s organisation

·   Escalate client issues to the relevant contact within Oracle Retail

·   Assist in the development of a comprehensive implementation plan

·   Attend Oracle Retail internal and client meetings, as required

 

Qualifications:

 

Education:        

 

·         Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required (Computing Sciences preferred)

 

Experience:

 

·         2+ years of experience in the implementation of Oracle Retail Predictive Application Server or other merchandise planning solutions

·         Functional and Technical knowledge of one or more of the following Oracle Retail Planning & Optimisation, or equivalent alternative, applications: Merchandise Financial Planning, Assortment Planning, Item Planning, Category Management, Demand Forecasting, Advanced Inventory Planning, Retail Price Optimisation, Size Profile Optimisation, Mark Down Optimisation, Merchandise Space Planning

·         Experience with translating business requirements to solution design and technical implementation

·         Previous consulting or participation in large-scale integration projects preferred.

·         Experience working with a large systems integrator preferred.

·         Proficiency with Excel

·         Strong inter-personal skills (developing trusted relationships, team-working, sharing ideas and knowledge)

·         Experience in IT Consulting or related role performing solution design and development

·         Ability to identify and proactively solve problems

·         Demonstrated time management skills

·    Fluent in English.

·    Strong verbal presentation and written communication skills.

·    Ability to analyse business requirements and translate to system implementation

·    Strong consulting skills.

·    Flexible & easily adaptable to change.

·    Demonstrated time management skills.

·    Ability to travel up to 75%.
