Capital Cost Engineer

Job description Capital Cost Engineer

The responsibilities of Drilling Cost Engineer include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Assist to establish and maintain Project Cost Control procedures.
  • Assist to establish and maintain work breakdown structure (WBS), including AFE and cost centre numbers, to control and report costs at agreed levels.
  • Provide support to Project Engineers to establish and maintain up to date Authorization for Expenditure (AFE) documents.
  • Establish and maintain financial cash flows for the Project, in line with the agreed WBS.
  • To assist lead cost engineer to monitor actual versus planned expenditures and produce cost forecasts to provide timely notification of potential over/under runs.
  • To assist lead cost engineer to produce Monthly cost reports, giving planned, actual and forecast costs, for all elements of the Project, in line with the agreed WBS.
  • Produce other ad-hoc reports and presentations on cost data that may be required by the Project.
  • Coordinate all Project CAPEX and OPEX budget submissions.
  • Prepare and monitor accruals and ensure that they are correctly controlled against budgets.
  • Prepare and maintain log for contractor and vendor invoices and ensure that these are properly cost coded prior to approval by the responsible party.
  • Review & audit contractors’ cost management procedures & reports.

Requirements Capital Cost Engineer

  • Minimum 10 years experience in the upstream oil and gas industry with a good understanding of Engineering.
  • Full membership of a relevant International Institution preferred.
  • Proficient in MS Access, MSWord, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Broad, multi-discipline knowledge and experience of cost engineering for onshore Oil and Gas projects.
  • University Degree in an Engineering or Commercial subject.
  • An accounting experience/background will be an added advantage.
  • Local Nigerian candidates will be preferred.

Job description Maintenance Manager

  • Manage all maintenance activities in the company,
  • Ensuring the proper working of all systems in the facility,
  • Prepare and implement short term and long term maintenance programs,
  • Complying with all corporate policies and the Occupational Safety and health administration rules while carrying out maintenance functions.
  • Manage an effective maintenance team; provide leadership and motivation to the team
  • Demonstrate a high level of safety awareness to ensure all sub-ordinates are aware of standards expected.
  • Assure Asset Integrity standards are maintained by planning, organizing, scheduling and controlling all maintenance work for assigned field asset
  • Lead the execution of maintenance assuring that all allocated responsibilities are dealt with accordingly.

Requirements Maintenance Manager

  • A minimum of fifteen (15) years’ experience in an onshore/offshore rig/ drilling oil and gas environment and around 5 years in a similar role as well as a strong background in the Oil and Gas sector.
  • Experience with implementation of maintenance strategies
  • Proved experience working with service/maintenance of production facilities for oil & gas such as rotating equipment (pumps, compressors, generators, CAT engines, cranes, turbines, HVAC) and static components (pressure vessels, coolers, valves) in either field or factory setting is desirable
  • Experience with data acquisition methods as Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) process, CMMS background and experience using other reliability centered tools and applications experience is mandatory
  • Ability to work effectively and prioritize in a high performance, fast-paced work environment
  • Ability to delegate work assignments, give authority to work independently, set expectations and monitor delegated activities
  • Managerial, supervisory and hands on experience in onshore/ offshore facilities.
  • Inspires and motivates others to work well and accepts feedback

Job description Drilling Engineer

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the Well planning & drilling engineering, casing design, fluids, cementing, directional, survey, bits and suspension
  • Total well planning and design, cost estimation and risk analysis, operation support to field team
  • Preparation of well engineering Decision Support Packages (DSP).
  • Ensure all regulatory requirements are met with the timely submittal of all applications to appropriate government authorities.
  • Detail Long Lead equipment and planning/ordering requirements
  • Travel to the field locations to monitor and participate in drilling operations and provide support to the Drilling Supervisors
  • Ensure Open Well daily drilling reports are reviewed, kept up to date and accurate.
  • Work closely with resource teams, geologists, and production and service company personnel to ensure an efficient operation.
  • Strong commitment to Safety and Environmental compliance. Development of the well based risk register, mitigations, actions and contingency planning.
  • Planning torque, drag, hydraulics, ECD, swab & surge calculations for drilling and running casing
  • Investigate offset data, lessons learnt & drive continuous improvement into the well planning and engineering.
  • Perform post-analyses for benchmarking and learning.

  • Prepare applications for drilling/workover operations ahead of time to be sent for approval by state agency

  • Liaise with Equipment Engineer to maintain a forecast of equipment to ensure sufficient quantities to meet operational requirements

  • Engineering Degree
  • Minimum 8 years of broad experience in Drilling operations on Onshore or offshore (Planning and Operational Implementation)

Job description Planner

Our client, a major Operator currently embarking on expansion of its gas assets, is seeking to hire a Planner who shall be Responsible for supporting the project team by utilizing project planning documents and output from the interactive planning process as a basis for developing project schedules.

  • Monitor the development of project-specific Project Controls procedures, ensuring they comply with the Capital Projects Management System.
  • Ensure the scheduling, cost estimating and cost control of the project organization are fully integrated.
  • Identify potential gaps in Project Controls organization for the project.
  • Provide training and assistance of the project for the implementation of the Project Controls processes and communication with the Project Development group.
  • Ensure that a reasonable level of effort has been invested in the preparation of the Project Controls requirements in the major contracts.
  • Assist in the analysis of contractor input for schedule information.
  • Gain and maintain full understanding and awareness of the schedule structure and contents, including the activities and relationships which make up the critical path.
  • Assists Project Controls and Project Management representative in formal project reviews
  • Lead and facilitate the planning process
  • Develop and maintain resource loaded critical path method (CPM) project schedules
  • Review schedules from company engineering, procurement, fabrication and subcontractors and inputs data into the project schedule and provide feedback as needed

Requirements Planner

  • A bachelor's degree in engineering, business or other related field or the equivalent experience
  • At least 10+ years of experience in a process oriented, E/C Company or in an operating company with project controls or project management duties
  • Working knowledge of EPC, Fabrication, construction and engineering work flows
  • Experience in Microsoft Project and Primavera will be a plus
  • Effective computer skills; including proficiency with Microsoft Office software and discipline specific software applications
  • The ability to collaborate and work in a team environment
  • Strong communication skills both verbally and in writing with superiors, colleagues, and individuals inside and outside the Company
  • Effective analytical and problem solving skills and the ability to formulate and communicate sound recommendations
  • Experience using SAP Primavera P-6 for the oil and gas industry

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Demonstrate Technical proficiency in the field of Planning and Scheduling, including use of software (Primavera P3 and P6, MS Project)
  • Proficiency in the field of schedule analysis and risking
  • Experience in SAP
  • Working knowledge of all Project Controls activities including cost estimating, cost control, project reporting and risk assessment.
  • Working knowledge of Project Service activities including document management, procurement, contract administration and general accounting.
  • Experience of and aptitude for working in a diverse cultural environment.
  • Stong facilitation skills, able to exert influence on project, partners and contractor staff in potentially adversarial circumstances.
  • Ability to make successful and meaningful planning presentations to all levels of management, including analysis, endorsement and recommendations of planning and scheduling deliverables.
