Job description

Responsibilities:


* Procurement administration experience, including draft, review and finalise pre-qualification, tender and contract documentation for consultant and contractor contracts and delivery tracking 
* Cost planning and analysis of financial tender submissions, including identifying pricing strategies and risk and recommending suitable mitigation measures 
* Evaluate tender submissions and prepare award recommendation reports
* Preparation of monthly reports and weekly updates Post-Contract: 
* Preparation of monthly cost/progress reports 
* Monitoring of project cash flow
* Preparation of interim recommendations for payment including checking site progress, materials on/off site, etc
* Evaluation of variations/claims and change control management
* Procurement of Provisional Sum/PC Rate Items
* Negotiation with contractors/agreement of additional costs 
* Final Account negotiation and agreement Requirements: 
* UK Qualified (OR EQUIVALENT) - to minimum BSc Degree level, but preferably MRICS & FCIArb.

Desired Skills and Experience

Key Strengths:

* Experience of working Overseas with Major Contractors on Heavy Engineering projects is essential

* Previous experience of working in Africa would be an advantage

*Communicates effectively at all levels of a project organisation
* Communicates effectively and precisely about contract, commercial and project management issues with multi-national project team members in a one-teaming way in an international environment.
* Ability to develop and implement commercial and contractual procedures and document control systems.
* Breadth of knowledge of FIDIC-based construction contracts, various other standard forms of contract and bespoke contracts.
* Experienced evaluator of contractual risks, identification and management.
*Structured, disciplined and pragmatic.
* Enthusiastic promoter of staff development through hands-on support, advice and training.
* A proactive seeker of solutions and positive ways forward to avoid claims and disputes.
* The above position is being offered initialy on a 6 MONTH FIXED TERM basis with 12 weeks on 2 week off rotation
