Offshore Construction Supervisor


Job Description:


    •Awareness of Company’s Quality Policy.
• Be aware of and obey the Company Quality rules & perform the activities required by relevant procedures on these issues.
•Ensures implementation of day-to-day priority work offshore in coordination with the Construction Manager.
•Ensures the right level of quality on the worksite and work with Contractor to achieve project requirement with regards to QA.
•Attends daily meetings and weekly progress meetings.
•Evaluates construction issues on the worksite with Contractor workers and contribute to their resolution at worksite level whenever possible.
•Ensures work procedures are properly implemented on the worksite and deviations are promptly reported to his hierarchies for further decision to be taken.
•Reports any issue to Construction Manager and Project Manager and suggest best possible solutions.
•Participates in clarification and responses to Contractor and/ or client queries.
•Ensures proper liaison with the rest of the Engineering/ construction team to guaranty adequate coordination within the team for construction activities.
•Ensures that activities performed on site in the project perimeter fulfil project HSE and QC requirements.
•Reports any incident as per Company and Project rules.
•Implements with Contractor site representative any risk assessment of Service Safety Analysis recommendation as required by Project HSE procedures.
•Participates in Service Hazard Analyses and Attend safety meetings on a regular basis with contractors' work teams.
•Assists in constructability reviews and the planning and scheduling of construction Services.
•Monitor the overall progress of the contractors against schedule, providing reporting on same to line management, highlighting the potential for slippage and propose remedial actions and signing contractor daily reports, personnel and equipment timesheets.
•Ensure Contractors have viable schedules for their work, recognizing interfaces with other ongoing company activities.
•Participate, with contractors' staff and company operations staff, in all pre-commissioning activities.
•Maintain adequate records relating to events surrounding the work, which may give rise to contractors claiming for a cost increase against contract.
•Contributes to project close out reports as applicable.
•Maintains good relationships with contractor team, being flexible enough but also strict when necessary (safety or other aspects) to achieve the objectives of the Site Modification Requests or of the Warranty Claim issues.
•Any other work of a similar nature as may be requested Client’ Management
•Attend all the company-organised training courses when invited.

 

Application Requirements:
    Project Location is Cotonu in Benin Republic.

Min. 15 years for which 8 years is on offshore construction supervision role.
B.SC, M.SC in Mechanical Engineering. Must have several certifications such as in Fabrication, Factory Acceptance tests, Offshore survival training e.g BOSIET, Welding, Installations etc.
Probable work duration is 4 months (Min.) - 6 months but subject to extension.


Marine Superintendent


Job Description:


•Ensuring Company owned / managed vessels and Contractors vessels are operated in a safe, efficient and economical manner and in full compliance with Class and Statutory regulations.
•Liaising with the Port Captain, Port Authorities and vessel Masters with reference to Certification, Safety.
•Monitor vessels crews compliance with STCW ’95, MLC 2006 and other training requirements.
•Ensure that vessels carry the required publications, procedures, operational manuals, and other documentation required by Flag State and other regulatory bodies, and that these are updated as required.
•Ensure IMCA guidelines and “best industry practises” are adhered to at all times, with regard to vessel DP operations, equipment and personnel requirements.
•Ensure that the vessels DP equipment is in a fully operational state of readiness at all times.
•Attend Annual DP Trials & FMEA audits as required.
•Ensure that CMIDs, OVIDs etc are carried out.
•Ensuring compliance where appropriate with the Company’s Procedures and Policies in accordance with the requirements of the ISM Code and ISO 9001:2008 ISO14001:2004 & ISO18001:2007 Standards.
•Assisting with investigating of any Marine related accidents or incidents and preparing reports in conjunction with QHSE Manager.
•Participating in vessel inspections and providing accurate reports indicating vessels current equipment, machinery, structural and operational status.
•Participating in HSE and stopping and reporting any unsafe acts and also reporting on good safe working practices observed.
•Actively promoting safety awareness among all Company Personnel.
•Monitor vessels safety and respond to Vessel Safety Meeting Minutes.
•Monitor the performance of sub-contractors services provided to vessel operations (e.g. consumables, catering) and liaising with sub-contractor to report, discuss and implement any corrective actions considered necessary.
•Undertaking visits offshore to vessels on location as required by the Project Manager.
•Ensuring that end of month vessel paperwork is reviewed and outstanding issues acted upon.
•Assisting in the internal and external audits of vessel working on the project.

 

Application Requirements:
•20 years of work experience in the general area of responsibility
•15 years of work experience in comparable area of activity, oil and gas industry.
•Fluency in English (written and oral), able to lead meetings in the English Language
•Good knowledge of computer software and office software.
• Highly pro-active working style with team work spirit.
•Proven experience in large intercultural projects
•Unlimited Master Mariner‟s license in compliance with STCW II/2.
•Experienced as a Class-1 Marine Engineer who must have worked as Chief Engineer in Coastal / Foreign going vessels an advantage
•Unlimited D.P. Certificate
•Minimum 5 years of sea experience as Master of offshore vessels.
•Minimum 3 years shore experience as Port Captain or Marine Superintendent.
•AHTS Experience preferred.
•DP experience essential.
•STCW Certificates must be valid at all times
