Communications Solution Specialist

This individual will focus their efforts on revenue development initiatives –those that enable the business to expand by reaching new customers and markets.  Related responsibilities may include market segmentation analysis, early stage discovery meetings, targeted customer campaigns, content development, sales tools and partner education. 

The ideal candidate would be a business minded, big picture thinker who has hands-on experience supporting sales and revenue generating efforts.  Business development specialists are responsible for developing new business avenues, providing leading thinking on trends and having the “intellectual curiosity” to explore new . They also work with other departments, including sales, marketing, and customer service departments.

Business development specialists are accountable for gathering data regarding their customers' markets. They conduct research pertaining to channel development, product development, and marketing and drive alignment with those teams to ensure the business is successful.  Solution specialists assist marketing and help to develop new business strategies, provide market analysis/input, and work with our business development team to drive related campaigns.

This individual should have a strong communications background and be able to use that expertise to define new communications markets – e.g. expand the meaning of communications.  At the same time they should have a foundation of knowledge on core telco trends and solutions.

Overlay sales personnel providing specialist product expertise to the sales force.

Detailed Description

Partners with Account, Technology, and Application sales representatives to qualify and close new business on Oracle solutions. Provides specific industry or product expertise to facilitate the closing of deals within sales representatives territory. Interacts with sales team to architect the solution, and develop and execute solution strategies for market. Manages solution opportunities to obtain appropriate and necessary resources for all qualified opportunities. Leads teams in the sales process for establishing market visibility and deal visibility. Presents/demonstrates solution to high level clients and industry conference attendees. May provide training to field sales on industry/solutions. Builds and maintains a network and up to date specific industry or product knowledge.

Job Requirements

Acknowledged authority within the Corporation. Provides leadership and expertise in the development of new products/services/processes, frequently operating at the leading edge of technology. 12 years applicable experience preferred. Subject matter expertise in industry/product space. Knowledge of key industry leaders and management. Knowledge of Oracle competition. Presentation and product demonstration experience. Previous consultative selling experience preferred. Excellent communication, negotiating, and closing skills with prospects and customers. Travel may be needed. BA/BS degree in related field.
