EHS Manager


GE Global Growth & Operations

Role Summary/Purpose

The EHS Manager will demonstrate accountability for functional, business, and broad company objectives. In this role, you will integrate and develop processes that meet business needs across the region, manage complex issues within functional area(s) of expertise, be involved in long-term planning, and contribute to the overall business strategy.


Essential Responsibilities:

- Manage EHS framework and drive change management within SSA

- Assist GE Energy businesses with acquisitions & divestitures.

- Work with Energy EHS HQ Transactions & Integration lead to ensure Energy EHS process is followed for each transaction.

- Assist with compliance at GE Energy sites, conduct audits and training, work with local EHS resources on site issues.

- Evaluate risks & challenges for all new projects & services, and support business EHS leads.

- Support business on all EHS external outreach activities.

- Liaise with regulatory agencies to develop strong relationships and provide strategic EHS regulatory guidance to GE operations in Africa

- Work closely with GE EHS leaders to institute programs that drive regulatory compliance and continuous improvement of key EHS compliance metrics across GE Africa operations.

- Be a guide & mentor to EHS professionals in Africa.

- Work with EHS leadership team to build an EHS leadership pipeline in region.

- Assist businesses with all HQ EHS initiatives such as OneGE, Risk Reduction, NoHarm etc.



- Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Engineering, or Environmental Science

- Excellent leadership & communication skills

- Minimum 10 years of core EHS experience.

- In-depth Knowledge of EHS regulations.

- Expertise with EHS Management Systems, Frameworks and Assessments

- Must have EHS experience in construction and transfer of work/factory projects.

- Must have experience in environmental related issues
Experience in managing EHS in factories, facilities and offices

- Experience with customer interactions.

- Advanced computer skills, primarily with MS office software

- Lean Six Sigma / Quality certification/experience

- Proven ability to lead and manage global program in a matrix organizational environment

- Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously, and interact effectively with personnel in multiple locations within Africa and globally

SWAT leader Upgrades & Rehabilitation 

Role Summary/Purpose:

Within the PGS Sales team, & supported by a team of experts in project development, sales, commercial operation, finance, and Application Engineer, the SWAT leader Upgrades & Rehabilitation – Africa will be responsible for all large upgrades of our gas and stream turbine fleet in the region, including Project Development, financing solutions & execution strategy.


Essential Responsibilities:

 Contributing to specific strategies definition and execution in order to grow PGS orders & Commitment

- Liaising as needed with the Africa PGS SM managers in order to ensure the needed cooperation and coordination on Territory / Customer centered approaches and strategies

- Liaising with the global PGS Sales teams & Engineering, Region OTR, CommOps, Risk, etc, as needed



 Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college

- Direct sales, account or operation leadership experience

- Fluent in English

- Broad knowledge of industry best practices in the Power generation industry

- Ability to develop and maintain customer relationships at all levels,

- Customer-centric mindset, able to translate customer issues/needs into profitable business solutions

Preferred location is Lagos. other location will be consider for strong candidates

Senior Buyer/Contract Administrator


Essential Responsibilities:

*Reviews, evaluates, and monitors department purchase requisitions for proper authorization, specifications, and legal compliance; takes responsibility for procuring appropriate items or services; creates and reviews purchase orders; researches and resolves receiving and accounts payable issues; inputs, edits, and retrieves purchasing data; disburses and maintains files related to purchase orders and purchasing; maintains other department files including those pertaining to vendors, bids, quotes, and other correspondence.
* Negotiate price, delivery and terms on equipment/service purchases.
* Document savings; participate in development of strategic sourcing plans for the business.
* Provide status and expedite as required.
* Looks after supplier receivables improvement.
*Responsible with developing compliance culture in the geography they are responsible for.
* Support to assess supplier capabilities and make recommendations on supplier acceptability.
* Implement sourcing standards including process & execution, with special focus on cost out/productivity initiatives & on-.time delivery optimization;
* Understand strategies for assigned commodities and drive initiatives to meet Sourcing objectives under coordination of Sourcing Leader
* Manage medium complexity issues within functional area of expertise to meet business KPIs in line with Sourcing objectives
*Provide coordination and leadership in procurement activities

Essential Responsibilities:

 Work closely with the Customer planners, who deliver and maintain a high level Workshop Activity Plan

- Interface with other various functions/Supervisors within the business to create workshop schedules on Sub-Activity levels

- Relate with the Customer Project Services during yearly Customer Business Plan exercise to forecast Onne workshop and offshore resources requirements

- Report on progress of execution and latest estimated finish dates for major work orders to Customer's Base Coordinator, Planners and Activity Owners

- Provide support to the Contract Delivery Manager in the development of programs and processes that reduce total cycle time and span

- Responsible for quality of delivery, schedule, and planning



- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Technology, or Quantity Surveying

- At least 8 years of project management experience in the Oil & Gas industry

- Subsea experience is essential for this role

- A strong technical and analytical skills

- Excellent communication skills including ability to communicate effectively with management, project team members, Client, sub-contractors and all stakeholders

- Proficiency with planning tools Primavera P6 (Super User) ,MS Project and database tools (MS Access, Excel)
