Strategic Sales Project Manager 

Job Purpose/Scope

The job exists to plan, execute and deliver local and international strategic sales projects aimed at achieving significant primary and secondary sales growth, including defining the project, building its comprehensive work plan and managing to the budget

 

Key Responsibilities

 Responsible for planning, executing and evaluating projects according to predetermined timelines and budgets. 
- Manage sales project development from initiation to closure
- Accountable for project results along with Project Sponsor
- Work with Project Sponsor and stakeholders to complete project charter outlining scope, goals, deliverables, required resources, budget and timing
- Complete work breakdown structure to estimate effort required for each task
- Provide project schedule to identify when each task will be performed
- Clearly communicate expectations to team members and stakeholders
- Act as a mediator between stakeholders and team members
- Resolve any issues and solve problems throughout the project life cycle
- Effectively manage project scope by ensuring any changes to scope are documented and approved with project change request forms
- Determine if external consultants or contractors will be required to complete project plan. If required, recruit and manage appropriate staffing resources
- Track and report on project milestones and provide status report to sponsor
- Lead, coach and motivate team members on a proactive basis
- Determine how results will be measured and complete a post-project evaluation to determine how well results were achieved
- Develop tools and best practices for project management and execution
- Ensure all project documents are safely archived following project completion
- Maintain relationships with key stakeholders within and outside of GSK and recommend new ways of working to improve overall efficiency of the sales team

 

Qualifications, Experience

 A good first degree
- 5-7 years working experience in project management and/or sales/marketing management
- Project management certification

- Sound financial, strategic and project management skills required
- Excellent communication, leadership, problem solving, and analytical 

 

 

District Development Manager 

Job Purpose/Scope

This job exists to achieve GSK Sales (volume and value) and point of sale visibility objectives in assigned territory and to expand GSK business frontier in catchment areas within the assigned territory

 

Key Responsibilities

- Support the Territory Sales team to achieve sales targets (volume and value) and customer relationship expectations
- Work closely with the Regional Sales Manager to adapt trade programmes to the territory’s reality
- Manage, train, inform and motivate Account Executives/Sales Officers/Partners Reps in order to deliver sales and distribution activities that are superior to the competition in respect of both core and added value services
- Develop and implement sales coverage plan for the territory to optimise reach across channels
- Responsible for new business development /expansion drive in territory
- Drive the team’s adherence to company process & procedures 
- Propose goals and set ASMART KPIs for direct reports and track performance
- Identifying business opportunity and prospecting new Accounts based on commercial viability in designated areas within territory
- Create and manage the territory wholesaler network
- Champion Point of Purchase visibility activations in the territory
- Manage engagement with local authorities, transport/ traffic agencies and other stakeholders to avoid disruption of GSK operations in the territory
- Actively involved in anti–counterfeit surveillance

 

Qualifications, Experience

- A good first degree
- At least 4 years Field Sales experience in a FMCG or related company

Head, Shopper & Customer Marketing

Job Purpose/Scope

This job exists to develop innovative and effective activation techniques for consumer communication at the point of sale grounded by insights into shopper motivation/behaviour and opportunities/constraints in different shopper channels

 

Key Responsibilities

1) Enhance Trade Channel understanding for GSK in Nigeria
- Demonstrate understanding of shopper and customer insights
- Periodically gather and analyse retail audit data for decision making
- Set up systems to track numeric and weighted distribution tracking for the Commercial team
- Use shopper and customer insights to develop competitive advantage through compelling category and channel plans

2) Develop and implement winning strategies at Point of Purchase (PoP)
- Interact with Brand teams to formulate PoP strategy in sync with the brand objectives
- Develop and agree action standards for implementation of PoP in conjunction with the Brand teams and Territory Heads to ensure effective execution. 
- Liaise with Brand and Sales teams to develop suitable PoP material and robust implementation plan 
- Ensure leading visibility of GSK brands in the market as per brand plans

3) Meet brand objectives by developing Trade Promotion strategy and having proper action standards and measurement criteria
- Liaise with the Brand and Sales teams to formulate Trade Promotion strategy which enhances brand prominence and helps in achieving sales & distribution objectives
- Deliver periodic trade promotion plans for the brands as per the strategy
- Liaise with Procurement team to source items from suppliers and ensure timely availability in the market
- Set up a robust system to track and monitor the execution of consumer promotions to ensure success 

4) Manage/Optimise Budgets for all Trade promotions activities 

 

Qualifications, Experience

- At least 8 years Field Sales experience in a FMCG Company or related industry.
