InterContinental Lagos is located on Victoria Island, in the centre of Lagos home to the majority of foreign embassies and multinational companies, making it the perfect residence for affluent business and diplomatic travellers. Built on an elevated terrain overlooking Lagos's port and the city below, the 19 storey hotel will offer uninterrupted, spectacular views of Lagos Skyline.

 

InterContinental Lagos comprises of 352 well-appointed, elegantly decorated rooms and suites as well as a Club InterContinental floor. Guests have access to an all-day dining restaurant, two specialty restaurants, room service and the pool bar for lighter meal choices and snacks. The lobby lounge and cocktail bar will be the perfect setting for casual meetings over coffee or drinks. In addition, for the health conscious traveller there will be a health club bar serving fresh juices. InterContinental Lagos also offer exclusive business and conference facilities including a state of the art ballroom with a foyer area, and several additional flexible meeting and breakout. We are currently recruiting our Italian Chef.

 

As the Italian Chef, you work under the direction of the Italian Sous Chef to prepare food in accordance with InterContinental Hotels and resorts policies and procedures. You will assist in the smooth running of the Italian kitchen operations and maintain very high standard hygiene practices. You will follow brand standard food specifications with a high level of performance, presentation, service delivery and ensure minimum food wastage in the kitchen.

 

Key responsibilities of the role includes: To prepare, cook and serve authentic Italian dishes. You will also exhibit your culinary talents by personally performing tasks while assisting with leading the staff and managing all food related functions. In addition you will work with team to improve guest and employee satisfaction while maintaining the operating budget, ensuring that sanitation and food standards are achieved.

As a  Commis Chef, you work under the direction of the Sous Chef to prepare food, carry out inventory functions, to ensure hotel quality standards and revenue goals are met and food and supply costs are controlled in accordance with InterContinental Hotels and resorts policies and procedures. You maintain very high standard hygiene practices and follow brand standard food specifications with a high level of performance, presentation, service delivery and ensure minimum food wastage in the kitchen.

As a  Chef de Partie, you work under the direction of the Sous Chef to prepare food in accordance with InterContinental Hotels and resorts policies and procedures. You will follow brand standard food specifications with a high level of performance, presentation, service delivery and ensure minimum food wastage in the kitchen.You will prepare, cook and serve Continental and/or Nigerian Dishes including appetizers, soups,  sauces and dressings.

  

Key responsibilities of the role include:

 

·         Supervise the work of Demi de partie chefs and Commis chefs.

·         Participates in menu planning in consultation with the Executive Chef/ Sous chef

·         Preparation, presentation, decoration and menu dishes appropriate to the hotel menu, location and guest mix

·         Ensure that outstanding culinary technical skills are maintained

·         Assist with organizing special events and special food promotions

·         Maintain comprehensive product knowledge including ingredients, equipment, suppliers, markets, and current trends and make recommendations for appropriate adjustments to kitchen operations

·         Maintain a hygienic kitchen.
