TELEPORT/HUB ENGINEER

DUTIES: 

• Maintenance - troubleshooting, repair, calibration and preventative maintenance of equipment and systems at the teleports. Maintenance is done to ensure that the Company’s customers have uplink and downlink resources available when required and to keep outage time to a minimum. In addition, maintenance is imperative to ensure that the teleport transmission and receive systems are compliant to requirements set forth by the Federal Government and regulatory bodies. 

• Projects - participation in the planning, installation and integration of new or replacement equipment and systems. May act in lead role on small projects. 

• Quality Control - ability to ensure outgoing, and incoming signals and content are compliant with standards set forth by the Regulatory Authorities, the satellite providers, Company and good engineering practices. In addition this responsibility includes quality control of installations equipment and documentation utilized by the teleports. 

• Customer Service - provides the highest quality of customer service to our primary customers - Teleport operations, Distribution technology, satellites/SNG, and the Company networks - by responding to requests in a timely manner. 

• Documentation - thoroughly documents problems and issues in the operations log. Timely and accurate completion on assigned projects including wire numbers, systems documentation, drawings, time sheets, time tracking and work orders.

• Demonstrated organizational skills and ability to prioritize and multi-task in a high-stress environment. 

• A sense of urgency in solving customer requests to ensure timely resolution. 

• Strong verbal and written communication skills in order to communicate with customers, peers and vendors. 

• Demonstrated ability to work in a team based environment to ensure 24x7x365 support of our customers. 


QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE: 

Qualification: University degree (Second Class Upper Division), electronics related (or equivalent education/experience/training). Excellent customer services skills with attention to detail. 

Experience: 

10 years of experience working as a maintenance engineer in a earth station and/or broadcast facility, working with RF, high voltage, emergency power systems and high power RF amplifiers. 

Also, experience in the Oil and Gas sector will be an added advantage 

 

HEAD OF OPERATIONS

JOB OBJECTIVES: 

The HOO has the ultimate management responsibility for the operations and business development efforts. He/She shall ensure that the predetermined profitability standards are achieved. May be required to appoint other managers to assist in carrying out the responsibilities of the organization. The HOO will 

• Execute all business development activities. 

• Have overall responsibility of all the technical staff 

• Monitor and report to the C.E.O the performance of the operations as a whole and as per department 

• Managing a team of over 200 people and growing. 



DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES : 


Duties and responsibilities of the COO shall include, but are not limited to, the following: 

1. Develop and implement an annual operations plan with a strategic focus, carry out periodic reviews and revisions

q Identifying all opportunities.

q Oversee the overall operations budgeting 

q Continuous identification of customer needs. 

q Continuous improvement of employees 


2. Develop and facilitate effective and timely communication

Reporting from bottom up 

q Manage all the reporting systems, and communicating the same to teams 


4. Responsible for the governance of the Operations.

Manage office and supervise office staff 

q Oversee the operations budget/financial management of the company. 

q Oversee smooth operations of the technical/maintenance department, while managing costs in conjunction with the field operations managers 

q Oversee projects in conjunction with the project managers 

q liaise with operations of the human resource and administration department 

q liaise with operations of the supply chain department 

q liaise with operations of the finance department 



6. Drive operations to achieve and surpass business goals and company objectives. 
Key Result Areas 
Ensure proper monitoring of maintenance and projects to achieve target objectives 

q Contractual agreement obligations 

q Initial point person for client liaising 

7. Understand and drive the Corporate’s Vision

q Represent the company at business meetings and on behalf of the CEO 

8. Ensure the identification of appropriate vendors and subcontractors. 
Key Result Areas 

q Negotiate favorable terms of trade with vendors to improve cash flows (30 days) 

q Manage our parts stocking levels vs. suppliers stocking on our behalf. 

q Being involved in prequalification of subcontractors for our projects 

9. Act as a liaison with the relevant clients and vendors

q Ensure that all departments have their systems, order, processes and procedures used and adhered to fulfill the company’s overall objectives.

11. Operations

q Coordinate the existing work projects 

q Ensuring team members are fully engaged in roles to be performed 

q Oversee overall work schedules of different projects and maintenance contract 

q Facilitate all logistical support 

q Facilitate team meetings 

 

Academic: 

• A first degree in an engineering discipline with extensive professional training would suffice. 

An MBA will be an added advantage 


Professional 

• Relevant professional training in Project Management, Engineering etc. 
• Personal Development and Soft skills Training 

• Computer literate with strong database and spreadsheet skills MS Excel, MS Access, SPSS. 


Experience 

• Minimum of 10years working experience, At least 7 years in the Telecommunications Industry. 
• Experience in formulating business plans geared at increasing business opportunities and market share in the region. 

• Proven experience in strategic planning and execution is paramount with well developed contracting and negotiating skills 
• Experience in contracts bidding and preparation of tender documents 

• The ability to build a complete, strong and motivated management team 

• Knowledge of communication and public relation principles and practices and with the ability to develop and deliver presentations that yield a result 

• Work requires professional written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills 

• QMS exposure and working environment will be an added advantage

SYSTEM ANALYST

SUMMARY: 

Responsible for the operating system and associated subsystems. Provide system-level support of multi-user operating systems, hardware and software tools, including installation, configuration, maintenance, and support of these systems. Identify alternatives for optimizing computer resources. 

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES 

• Collect information to analyze and evaluate existing or proposed systems. 

• Research, plan, install, configure, troubleshoot, maintain and upgrade operating systems. 

• Research, plan, install, configure, troubleshoot, maintain and upgrade hardware and software interfaces with the operating system. Analyze and evaluate present or proposed business procedures or problems to define data processing needs. 

• Prepare detailed flow charts and diagrams outlining systems capabilities and processes. 

• Research and recommend hardware and software development, purchase, and use. 

• Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, and connectivity problems, including user access and component configuration. 

• Select among authorized procedures and seek assistance when guidelines are inadequate, significant deviations are proposed, or when unanticipated problems arise. 

• Record and maintain hardware and software inventories, site and/or server licensing, and user access and security. 

• Install, configure, and upgrade desktop hardware and peripherals to include; network cards, printers, modems, mice and add-in boards. 

• Work as a team member with other technical staff, such as networking to ensure connectivity and compatibility between systems. 

• Write and maintain system documentation. 

• Conduct technical research on system upgrades to determine feasibility, cost, time required, and compatibility with current system. 

• Maintain confidentiality with regard to the information being processed, stored or accessed by the network. 

• Document system problems and resolutions for future reference. 

• Other duties as assigned. 


ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES: 

• Assist personnel of other departments as a computer resource. 

• Provide on-the-job training to new department staff members. 

• Provide computer orientation to new company staff.

 

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS: 

• Basic reading, writing, and arithmetic skills required. This is normally acquired through a high school diploma or equivalent. 

• Knowledge of company supported hardware, software and operating systems to include configuration and connectivity. 

• Ability to investigate and analyze information and to draw conclusions. 

• Ability to plan, implements, test, and troubleshoot system software. 

• Ability to develop systems solutions for operational problems. 

• Knowledge of computer flow charts and of programming logic and codes. 

• Ability to determine computer problems and to coordinate hardware and/or software solutions. 

• Ability to communicate technical guidance and instruction to users on the use of PC and/or mainframe applications and systems. 

• Ability to write technical instructions in the use of programs and/or program modifications. Records maintenance skills. 

• Knowledge of computer security procedures and protocol. 

• Knowledge of federal copyright laws as they pertain to the use of computer software. 

• Ability to determine the nature of computer hardware and systems software problems, and to communicate technical guidance and information to users. 

• Ability to learn and support new hardware, software and operating systems. 

• Work with users requires interpersonal skills. 


QUALIFICATION AND YEARS OF EXPERIENCE: 

• Qualification preferred - University degree with a minimum of Second Class Upper division and 10 years’ experience in programming and/or system analysis. 

Also, experience in the Oil and Gas sector will be an added advantage 

 

CONTRACT ANALYST

A Contract analyst’s primary goal is to help the company avoid contractual disputes. These disputes can result in lengthy court battles, high legal fees and negative publicity, so a contract analyst works to protect both the company’s reputation and financial interests. 

Contract analysts review a company’s contracts before it signs, analyzing all clauses, stipulations, obligations and liabilities to ensure they suit the company. 

Analysts must be familiar with city, state and national contract laws to verify that the company is in accordance with laws and to avoid legal complications down the road. 

Bid preparation - reading through bids understanding the requirements and putting a response together. 

Monitoring of contract expiration and coordinating the renewal of such where required 

A contract analyst may also be responsible for looking over contracts and finding ways to cut costs for the company. 

He may be asked to renegotiate pricing or terms with the other party. In some instances, the contracts analyst is asked to draft the entire document and then bring it to the company’s management for review. 

 

SKILLS: 

A contract analyst should be extremely thorough and detail oriented, as the job largely consists of reading through contractual documents line by line. 

Contract analysts must also have excellent writing skills, as they are often required to write or rewrite contracts. 

They must be able to express themselves effectively and accurately in writing to avoid any confusion in the agreements. 

They must also be able to manage their time efficiently, as many contracts and deals are time sensitive. Employers may also require some knowledge of or experience in the company’s field. 


QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE: 

Bachelor’s degree in a business- or legal-related field of study, at least a master’s degree or MBA, with advanced and specialized training in contractual agreements. 

Ten years’ hands on experience. 

Also, experience in the Oil and Gas sector will be an added advantage
