InterContinental Lagos is located on Victoria Island, in the centre of Lagos home to the majority of foreign embassies and multinational companies, making it the perfect residence for affluent business and diplomatic travellers. Built on an elevated terrain overlooking Lagos's port and the city below, the 19 storey hotel offers uninterrupted, spectacular views of Lagos Skyline. InterContinental Lagos comprises of 352 well-appointed, elegantly decorated rooms and suites as well as a Club InterContinental floor. Guests have access to an all-day dining restaurant, two specialty restaurants, room service and the pool bar for lighter meal choices and snacks. The lobby lounge and cocktail bar is the perfect setting for casual meetings over coffee or drinks. In addition, for the health conscious traveller there is a health club bar serving fresh juices. Other amenities include a fully-equipped gym, outdoor pool, and retail space.We are currently recruiting our Credit Manager.

 

Key responsibilities of the role include:

 

As the Credit Manager you will review all billing request to determine eligibility, approve or disapprove credit applications as needed, ensuring adherence to InterContinental credit policy. You will implement and maintain all credit policies and procedures, reconcile accounts with payment problems, prepare and analyse monthly credit report and other necessary reports, review daily accounts, guest ledger or potential credit issues as needed. You will also conduct monthly credit meeting, explaining past due accounts and outlining plans for collection. Review A/R aging for accuracy and correct postings and develop and implement financial control procedures and systems. You will manage the credit granted by the hotel, ensuring a positive cash flow by collecting debt in an effective, professional manner that will reflect the Intercontinental culture.

Qualifications

 

 

  • A degree in Accounting or its equivalent  
  • At least 4 years credit management experience in a similar position in hotels of international brand
  • Good understanding of the Nigeria/African business and markets environment
  • Ability to demonstrate a proven track record of results achieved, creativity and the implementation of new practices.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communications skills (written & oral proficiency in English)
  • Service minded and ability to involve and support operations
  • Business savvy and good people skills

As Duty Manager, you will be in charge of pertinent matters affecting guest service and hotel operations to ensure guests receive prompt attention and personal recognition throughout the hotel. In addition, you'll respond to guest needs and resolves any issues that may arise; supervise, direct and support Reception, Concierge, Guest Relations and Reservations teams during peak periods, assist Guest Relations in greeting, rooming, and sending off VIP guests, conduct daily departmental briefings and provides input for regular Front Office meetings. You'll also checkbilling instructions and monitors guest credit. Analyses and approves discounts and rebates, analyse the rate variance report to ensure rooms revenue control, take action with the Property Management Systems (PMS) in emergency situation and be fully conversant with all hotel emergency procedures. You will actively guide and direct the whole team to ensure consistency of brand standards and a high level of performance and service delivery to all our guests.

  • Previous Front Office Supervisory/Management Experience in a 5* Hotel is a must
  • Previous experience with dealing and resolving guest queries.
  • Strong market knowledge and trends are key to this position.
  • Excellent presentation, communication and organizational skills and the ability to multi task while working under pressure
  • Able to turn vision into action
  • Highly visible and 'hands on' in operation
