Tresury/Tax Officer (155134)

  • Generate withholding tax deduction from the Vendor General Ledger Account and prepare withholding tax schedules for both Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS) and States Internal Revenue Service on monthly basis. Process and monitor the payments and distribute withholding tax credit notes to the respective beneficiaries and ensure that a copy is kept for our record.
  • Generate Input VAT for the month and  get the description and cost centre in Spiridon to classify Input VAT into recoverable and unrecoverable input VAT to prepare Journal voucher to book the unrecoverable input VAT
  • Generate the turnover for the month from Spiridon and confirm turnover figure.  Identify the customer that deduct VAT at Source and take 5% as VAT deducted at Source for the month per cost center.  Liaise with the Business Units for classification
  • Prepare the summary to determine whether payable or refund position for approval and take the signed VAT Form together with the signed summary to FIRS for stamping
  • Compute forecasted/Actual tax expense in SITAX, tax reporting tool, monthly.
  • Monitoring of PAYE and other statutory deductions to ensure that remittances are made as at when due and Reconciliation of PAYE General Ledger Account
  • Liaise with Price WaterHouse Coopers (PWC) and Business Units on Transfer Pricing Documentation requirements and ensure that documents required for the documentation are forwarded to PWC.
  • Prepare tax risks reporting quarterly and forward to the Cluster.
  • SITAX TRPInput Balance Sheet items (Assets and Liabilities) and P & L items into SiTax
  • BUDGET: Compute forecasted tax expense yearly.
  • Receive partly filled Application Form for Tax Clearance Certificate from our Tax Consultant and send signed application form processing
  • Co-ordinate tax audit exercises from various tax authorities yearly and Attend to tax queries/ Tax Audit Reconciliation Committee (TARC) meetings
  • Prepare and maintain insurance schedules and ensure timely renewal; Pursue and obtain timely settlement of all valid insurance claims and liaise with insurance brokers on the insurance needs of company.
  • Processing of travel insurance for staff
  • Processing of guarantee request received from BU and ensuring that all guarantee are maintained on GREAT tool. On monthly basis reconcile report on GREAT with guarantee report from our bankers and Liaising with our bankers to ensure prompt delivery of quality services to meet our various financial challenges
  • Monitoring of the Bank Receivable interim account to ensure prompt clearing of outstanding items, ensure that open items in Foreign vendor account are cleared immediately payment is effected / booked.
  • Advisory role on treasury related matters to BU; monitoring of our bank balances on a daily basis to ensure proper funding of our account
  • Preparation of monthly cash flow forecast.  Settlement of foreign deal with banks, liaising with bank on foreign hedging and signing of facilities
  • Monitoring of our various TRE approval to ensure prompt renewal thus preventing exception triggers; Ensuring that our banking activities / relationship align with Siemens global directives by proper filing of documents.

Accounting Principles and Practices, Business Guidelines pocessess and pocedures

General Supervision of the accounting and controlling process. Ensuring that books and records are kept in quality and for best-practice financial reporting that meets both internal and external requirements. Also oversight that accounting regulations as per Siemens FRG and local GAAP as well as corresponding Cluster regulations are adhered to and that country regulation are implemented.                                  

Provides Center of Competence for the Country Finance Community.

Supports on A&C topics to the business in the Country and governance on Cluster level. Ensures meeting local regulations. Provides support on A&C topics to the business of all companies in the Country. Supports governance and execution of accounting and controlling for meeting local regulations (tax requirements, external audit, local laws, contractual requirements, expertise in local GAAP tax and legal processes)

 

Planning and Budgetting

Provides advice to the Accounting & Controlling Community that reflects best practice. Supervise the infrastructure budget planning process and support the Business Unit process of forecast and budget implementation in line with defined Siemens Guidelines

 

Leadership.

Provides organizational leadership in area of expertise in order to ensure the attainment of key strategic goals. Facilitates team goal setting and problem solving. Facilitates the development of individual development plans for team members

Preparation of closing instructions local GAAP together with senior management, defines, communicates and applies responsible policies and guidance for financial reporting, Ensure any local or business specific IFRS financial reporting guidelines are in line with Siemens Financial Reporting Guidelines. Differences between the accounts prepared under IFRS and local GAAP are properly recorded and analyzed.Ensure Minimal Differences between HB I and HB II. Obtain a certificate of exemption where original accounting entries cannot be made in line with IFRS due to conflicts with local laws and regulations (FA))

This position serves as a company technical and administrative representative, and deals with customer service assignment including on-site preventive maintenance and inspection service work, call-out services and commissioning activities on SIEMENS turbo-compressor products and packages.

 

Mission:

Under general direction and instructions, independently determines and develops approaches to solutions to customer requirements and problems.

 

Scope of work:

 

Health, Safety and Environmental: Understands and complies with SIEMENS and customer QHSE policies and procedures. Ensure the work permit system is complied with. Ensure safe site and practices. Participate by attending general safety and toolbox safety meetings. Suggest safety improvements.

 

Quality: Ensure customer expectations are met or exceeded. Ensure all maintenance activities are carried out in accordance with company policy, manufacturer's recommendations and good practices.

 

Analyzing: Must have basic knowledge of methods and experience in the categories of maintenance on the products and various equipment associated with primary package.

 

Project Monitoring: Must be able to recognize abnormal sounds vibrations, and potential safety problems at inception and take appropriate action to prevent a serious safety hazard that could develop to equipment damage or loss of production. Provide timely and daily reports to the relevant manager on on-going projects or daily work. Keep abreast of pending work and personnel required to complete the projects. Ensure that necessary parts are available and submit materials requisitions when required.

 

Reporting: Accurate feedback and communication to pre-planned report format. Keep and update all equipment histories to effectively forecast equipment utilization and efficiency. Co-ordinate any changes necessary to ensure operations are efficient and minimal downtime is required. Ensure effective communication and reporting to immediate supervision and if applicable to customer representatives.

 

Problems: Will utilize sound judgment when analyzing problems. Solve problems with little or no supervision in a timely manner and at a nominal cost. Master all procedures and available options of identifying sources of information and technical advice. Will have sufficient product knowledge to repair and adjust minor mechanical/electrical components/systems and will be capable of reading applicable drawings and technical manuals.

 

Scheduling: Provide short to medium term scheduling of personnel and materials required for smooth routine maintenance and commissioning of plant.

 

Timing: Adequate strategy of engaging operations in releasing equipment in a timely manner for maintenance. Will be, required to assist in a technical manner with the operations and maintenance crew in any area if the workload exceeds the number of personnel available.

 

Principal Accountabilities:

• Monitor maintenance services or installation support to ensure they are carried out within company policy, manufacturers’ recommendations and in a safe manner.

• Ensure major interventions are planned, executed on schedule and within commercial orders.

Qualifications:

• Will have served a recognized apprenticeship or equivalent period of training. Will possess a technical qualification e.g. Degree, HNC/ HND, ONC, C&G, Certificate and will have 3–5 years’ experience in a related industry. Higher experience/skill levels may balance lower academic qualifications, and visa versa.

• Experience in an onshore/offshore environment is essential, also familiarity with rotating equipment and PLC systems. This experience may be either mechanical or Instrument/ Electrical and the SSR-II will be capable of a cross-disciplined approach to the job.

• Will be familiar with Gas Turbine theory, Compressors theory and operational practice including control system logic, driven equipment and processes both upstream and downstream.

• Will have the ability to program and basic troubleshooting on SIEMENS controls, PLC Logic and familiar with RSLogix systems.
