Built on an elevated terrain overlooking Lagos's port and the city below, the 19 storey hotel offers uninterrupted, spectacular views of Lagos Skyline. InterContinental Lagos comprises of 352 well-appointed, elegantly decorated rooms and suites as well as a Club InterContinental floor. Guests have access to an all-day dining restaurant, two specialty restaurants, room service and the pool bar for lighter meal choices and snacks. We are currently recruiting our Chef de Partie.

 

As a  Chef de Partie, you work under the direction of the Sous Chef to prepare food in accordance with InterContinental Hotels and resorts policies and procedures. You will assist in the smooth running of the kitchen operations and maintain very high standard hygiene practices. You will follow brand standard food specifications with a high level of performance, presentation, service delivery and ensure minimum food wastage in the kitchen.You will prepare, cook and serve Continental and/or Nigerian Dishes including appetizers, soups,  sauces and dressings.

  

Key responsibilities of the role include:

 

·         Supervise the work of Demi de partie chefs and Commis chefs.

·         Participates in menu planning in consultation with the Executive Chef/ Sous chef

·         Preparation, presentation, decoration and menu dishes appropriate to the hotel menu, location and guest mix

·         Ensure that outstanding culinary technical skills are maintained

·         Assist with organizing special events and special food promotions

·         Maintain comprehensive product knowledge including ingredients, equipment, suppliers, markets, and current trends and make recommendations for appropriate adjustments to kitchen operations

·         Maintain a hygienic kitchen.

Qualifications

 

  • Hands on Expetise in Continental and/or Nigerian Cuisine
  • Good understanding of the Hotel Industry standards, policies and procedures

As a  Commis Chef, you work under the direction of the Sous Chef to prepare food, carry out inventory functions, to ensure hotel quality standards and revenue goals are met and food and supply costs are controlled in accordance with InterContinental Hotels and resorts policies and procedures. You maintain very high standard hygiene practices and follow brand standard food specifications with a high level of performance, presentation, service delivery and ensure minimum food wastage in the kitchen.

As the Italian Chef, you will supervise the functioning of the Italian kitchen employees, food preparation and presentation in accordance to the Hotel's Food and Beverage standard and standardised menu guidelines, participate in the planning and costing of menus, develop and write standard recipes, develop new dishes and products, ensure that outstanding culinary technical skills are maintained, assist with organizing special events and special food promotions, maintain comprehensive product knowledge including ingredients, equipment, suppliers, markets, and current trends and make recommendations for appropriate adjustments to kitchen operations accordingly, maintain a hygienic kitchen.

 

Key responsibilities of the role includes: To prepare, cook and serve authentic Italian dishes. You will also exhibit your culinary talents by personally performing tasks while leading the staff and managing all food related functions. In addition you will work with team to improve guest and employee satisfaction while maintaining the operating budget, ensuring that sanitation and food standards are achieved.

As the Club Lounge Manager, you will ensure the smooth and efficient running of the InterContinental Club Lounge - catering to 72 Executive club rooms and Suites within the hotel. As such, you will be directly responsible for the satisfaction of all guests visiting ensuring standards are maintained as per the InterContinental Lounge standards. This diverse, challenging role will be based under Front Office and sets to provide an exclusive and personal experience to all our guests. As Club Lounge Manager, you will also be responsible for managing and motivating the team. You will actively guide and direct the whole team to ensure consistency of brand standards and a high level of performance and service delivery to all our guests.

Qualifications

 

Qualifications:

 

  • Degree from a reputable institution in Social Sciences/ Arts or its equivalent
  • Previous Managerial Experience in F&B or Front Office in a 5* Hotel or an International Airline is a must
  • Experience working with budgets, forecasts and presentation is a must.
  • Previous experience with dealing and resolving guest queries.
  • Excellent presentation, communication and organizational skills and the ability to multi task while working under pressure
  • High level of English language skills both written and verbal.
  • Previous IHG experience preferred but not mandatory
