$28,000 - $32,000 p.a.

An exciting opportunity has arisen in CIMA for an experienced Business Development Manager to join our busy office in Lagos, Nigeria.  


Reporting to the Country Manager (with accountability to the Regional Director, Africa), we are seeking a self-motivated individual to implement CIMA’s business development strategy and drive CIMA’s regional business development initiatives.


Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:


You will be responsible for driving transformational student growth by building relationships with tertiary educational institutions.  Through face-to-face presentations to universities and employer events you will heighten CIMA’s presence and visibility, and enhance CIMA’s profile by selling CIMA’s products and services.  Using your current commercial experience it is essential you have the ability to entrench CIMA in the employment market. 


It is vital that you are able to build long standing account management relationships with CIMA’s major key accounts and maximise opportunities to increase business and revenue. You will have the ability to facilitate external links with international and regional organisations that can influence employers and raise the profile of CIMA throughout Nigeria and Africa. 


Key to the role is ensuring compliance with statutory education requirements in Nigeria and the National Universities Commission and developing a strategy for schools through a database.

  • Communication – diplomacy, active listening skills, persuasive, one to one, one to many, telephone to soft sell intangible benefits, thereby deriving income
  • Proven record of relationship building and managing major accounts
  • Customer focus coupled with professional integrity.
  • Excellent presentation skills, the confidence to present to all levels
  • Results driven and with a strong work ethic, determined, energetic, self-starter, 
  • Team player
  • IT literate
  • Organised and motivated, a self starter
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment, being able to deliver under pressure
  • Flexibility for business travel


Qualifications and Experience: 

  • Degree level/business qualification or qualified through relevant depth of experience
  • Proven experience at B2B account management with a track record of success in selling intangible benefits to key clients
  • Being able to target responsibility with demonstrable and consistent achievement in these areas
  • Experience of working remotely and in virtual terms
