 Ensure that the Driller is provided each tour with the Standing Instructions to Driller (SID) that is relevant to the planned operations.

Monitor the maintenance, repair and installation of all drilling equipment including repair, lubrication, maintenance records, and inventory levels .

Maintain records of inspections and certification of drilling equipment, tools and tubular.

Ensure the mud mixing systems and solid control equipment are being monitored constantly and properly maintained.

Relieve the Driller at the Driller’s console as operational requirement demands.

Partake in the daily operations meeting with the OIM, Senior Toolpusher and other rig department heads.

Monitor the application of the Company Rig Maintenance System (RMS) for drilling department maintenance tasks.

Review and approve all drilling-related Permit to Work as the responsible person for the task.

Assist in planning the job activities of the drilling department and associated activities.

Ensure that well control requirements are in place according to operational requirements; assist in supervising well-killing operations in an emergency situation.

Perform all well control calculations (i.e. mud weight increase, initial and final circulating pressures, number of strokes, etc.),

Assist the Senior Toolpusher or OIM in coordinating the activities of third-party personnel responsible for various aspects of the well program and ensure that they understand Transocean policy and procedures related to the task and that they follow safety processes.

Prepare Requisition Purchase Orders for equipment or parts necessary to keep the drilling operation free of downtime. Assist in ensuring that sufficient stock of parts and materials are maintained.

Maintain proper communication with the Senior Toolpusher and OIM regarding the progress of drilling and associated operations.

Recommend adjustments to drilling parameters as necessary to improve the overall drilling operation’s performance.

Promote and maintain an effective working relationship with other departments, third-party personnel and Customer Representatives.

Assist the Driller during an emergency or well control situation; assist in the well killing operations.

Assist in supervision of Preventive Maintenance carried out on drilling equipment .

 

Assist in supervision of repairs on drilling and associated equipment  .

Assist in running and cementing casing strings, running and retrieving BOPs and risers, and other operations as directed by the Driller or Toolpusher.

Monitor mud systems and supervise solids control equipment and mud mixing operation.

Assist in the planning, organization and execution of rig move operations.

Operate drilling and associated equipment as directed by the Driller, i.e. Top Drive System, mud pumps, BOP and Diverter controls, etc.  

 
             

 

 

 

 

Materials Coord - Nigeria Nationals

REPORTING:

Reports to the Senior Materials Coordinator or Chief Engineer or Maintenance Supervisor

SUPERVISION:

Supervises the Assistant Materials Coordinator and ART Materials Trainee.

LOCATION:

Offshore location.

PREREQUISITES / QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. High school diploma or equivalent. Rig based work experience and demonstrated ability of oral and written communications may be substituted in lieu of formal education.
  2. Valid medical examination and vaccination certificates.
  3. Basic computer skills.

BASIC FUNCTION:

  1. Coordinate the rig’s materials requisitions, organize and control the warehouse, and maintain the warehouse inventory levels within established guidelines.
  2. Ensure warehouse activities are carried out in a safe and prudent manner.

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Materials and Inventory Control:

 

Secure the warehouse at all times and restrict access to non-authorized personnel.

Receive materials into the warehouse stock and issue parts to departments as needed.

Liaise with department heads in the preparation of materials requisitions for all parts and equipment – Focus on planning to minimize urgent orders – Forward approved requisitions to the shore base office.

Maintain accurate records of received and outstanding requisitions, and cargo manifests. Track the progress of Purchase Orders.

Maintain adequate stock levels of equipment spares and consumables so as to facilitate the continuous operation of the unit.

Prepare periodic reports for the Rig Manager and shore-based Materials Manager as required.

Perform cyclical inventory of stock and maintain the physical inventory in the warehouse.

Review regularly obsolete and surplus parts and advise Rig Supervisors for follow up.

Utilize the computerized system to maintain an accurate inventory of all materials stored on the rig.

Prepare manifest for all equipment dispatched from the rig either by sea or air.

Check for discrepancies in materials received against delivery notes and outward manifest. Issue Procurement Incident Report for incorrect items.

Assist in the manifesting and control of third party equipment as required.

Assist department heads in establishing a realistic minimum/maximum warehouse stock of all shut down or critical items

Provides Fixed Asset Register information to department heads.

Ensure all hazardous and non-hazardous wastes are correctly labeled and packaged prior to shipment ashore.
