Vice President – Power Project Finance

Role Summary/Purpose:

The VP, Power Project Finance will report to the Sales & Project Finance Leader for West Africa and will be responsible for structured & project financing, investments and driving the growth of the GE power business by applying multiple financial products & structures – project financing, corporate financing / lending, asset backed lending / leasing, trade finance, equity, mezzanine, sub-debt and PPP structuring in Nigeria and across West Africa


Essential Responsibilities:

- Embedded within the GE Regional Commercial and Project Development teams to advise on development and project financing structures, which will include but not be limited to co-investment and co-development structures to fast track the implementation and financing of deals to drive orders growth

- Lead all financing aspects of a project during the project development cycle up to the structuring & deployment of development and long term capital in power infrastructure projects

- Analyze Credit and Market risks, lead the preparation of external documentation (Information Memos) and internal documentation (pricing models, credit requests and board papers); provide useful market intelligence for decision making, structuring and pricing in order to win transactions and clear market in our role as financial arrangers

- Coordinate and lead the external debt & equity financiers throughout the financing phase of projects

- Support GE engagement under the country strategic agreements (MOU - Memorandum of Agreement) with the Ministry of Power

- Develop close relations with a network of regional/local banks/financial Institutions & Investors and build a range of finance solutions

- Lead projects independently. Lead the underwriting efforts pulling in expertise from the global / regional GE sales & project finance teams (ECA, equity, structuring, etc.), functional teams in tax, accounting, legal and operations. Advise on and structure transactions where GE is taking direct investment risk; either on corporate or project finance basis or through investment vehicles



MBA/MSc in Finance.

- Project financing, project development, investment banking, private equity background.

- Development Finance Institution (DFI) experience

- Demonstrated closed transactions (large IPPs in Nigeria)

- Deep financial modelling acumen

- Developed market experience

- Emerging markets and Africa experience

- Fluent in French

- Strong network with project finance, private equity, and financial services community in Africa and globally

- Deep project finance skills required

- Strong credit and underwriting skills required

- Experience in developing and financing of complex multi-party infrastructure projects

- Strong Project Management and integration skills

Role Summary/Purpose:  

Support region growth objectives by developing, leading & winning hospital & healthcare (HHS) projects

- Leverage full GEHC portfolio and collaborate with external partners to develop competitive offering

- Leverage Government Aids, Export Credit Lines and Private financing


Essential Responsibilities: -


Identify large and strategic project opportunities in the region. Then, work closely with the HHS Central team and the region sales team to define the best strategy for winning those projects either directly or in partnership with packagers, construction companies, consultants, suppliers etc.

- Act as the “One GE Healthcare” face in front of the customer and coordinate all GE stakeholders for the projects he/she is responsible for.

- Act as primary interface with local project stakeholders (Financial investors, equipment packagers, architects, construction companies and hospital management companies.) to ensure consistent GE sales strategy with them. Responsible for building relationships and screening them.

- Leverage GEHC & Sales & Project Finance (S&PF) capabilities financing capabilities to address projects funding needs.

- Leverage GE government relations to establish strong relationships with healthcare authorities and financing institutions personnel of his region.

- Create innovative ways to structure integrated healthcare projects actively build synergies between GE Healthcare businesses and other GE businesses, coordinate selling effort on projects.

- Negotiate and close projects order ensuring:
- Continuous communication/coordination with the zone sales leaders and the HHS central team
- Preparation of the commercial offers, tender responses & contract reviews with the region support functions (Pricing, Finance, Legal)

- Responsible for accurate and high-quality orders forecasts, with all projects regularly updated in the on-line HHS project tracker tool and regular projects milestones review with management.



 University degree, preferably in Business Management, Public Health, Sciences or Finance from an accredited university

- MBA or Master's degree in a related field.

- A valid NYSC discharge or exemption certificate will be required.

- Must have valid authorization to work full-time without any restriction in Nigeria

- Minimum 10 years' experience in similar Project Sales position (Healthcare, Service or Technology industry) with experience of leading development and execution of healthcare projects in emerging markets.

Agreements, management of consultants and subcontractors, project finance structures and financial models.

Role Summary/Purpose:

The Sourcing Manager demonstrates accountability for functional, businesses and broad objectives across SSA. In this role you will integrate and develop processes that meet business needs across the organization, manage complex issues within functional area of expertise, be involved in long-term planning, and contribute to the overall business strategy in Africa.


Essential Responsibilities:

 Develop, plan, and manage programs to meet GE purchasing commitments in Sourcing

- Manage the complete purchasing and contract administration functions as required to meet program commitments

- Develop sourcing strategy targets on quality, price, delivery and service necessary to meet requirements

- Implement and maintain a quality improvement process targeting reduction in product variation and product losses using key management tools

- Collaborate with managers in setting realistic and challenging operational goals and contribute to their accomplishments

- Periodically prepare and implement work plans

- Manage Buyers/Contract Administrators in fulfilling purchasing commitments and organize the appropriate program plans

- Provide for the evaluation of vendor quotations utilizing appropriate negotiation and purchasing analysis techniques and implementation of proper contracts with emphasis on quality, price, delivery, and service necessary to meet requirements

- Provide for evaluation of suppliers’ capabilities and identification of appropriate items to buy

- Provide support to GE Marketing and Sales in their proposal efforts

- Lead commodity Sourcing with accountability over direct/indirect buy, and cost reduction targets

- Develop, implement and lead overall supplier strategy for commodity area, including simplification, ensuring sourcing process integrity, and optimize productivity, quality and fulfillment

- Set sourcing strategy and lead a team with strong process responsibility to develop complex and comprehensive supplier/buyer contractual relationships to meet the business needs

- Ensure supplier compliance with regulatory and reputation requirements

- Partner with Supplier to drive quality initiatives for Sourcing

- Responsible for people management in the department



 Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college

- At least 10 years of cognate experience in a Sourcing position

- Willingness and ability to travel 40% of the time
