 Job Summary:

 To manage & direct all operations, including implementation of all projects, in order to maximize the Monthly Quarterly & Annual Sales, Gross Profit, Profit Contribution and Cash-flow contributions.

 Design, implement, manage and control all operational policies & procedures, compatible with primary coy’s policies & procedures, and relevant statutory requirements & guidelines, ensuring full compliance across all day-to-day activities.

 Monitor and review activities of the Divisional & Business Unit Managers, including chairing weekly & monthly management review meetings.

 Prepare and submit the monthly operations report.

 Provide maximum support to the MD in order to maximize his time devoted to both the external role of the MD, as well as his primary responsibility to drive the overall strategies of the Company.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 Monitor timely implementation of all agreed strategies, projects, tasks, programmes and Action Plans necessary to ensure the minimum monthly & quarterly sales, profit & cash-flow targets as laid down in the Annual Business Plan (and Forecasts) are consistently delivered and achieved for each division.

 Establish and implement approved company policies & procedures and ensure full compliance on a timely basis across the company.

 Co-ordinate with Division Heads and the F/C the timely and accurate preparation and submission of the annual and monthly business plans, budgets & forecasts for each Division & Business Unit. Comment on specific variances in the Monthly Operations Report

 Effectively & efficiently manage, operate & control the imports & distribution logistics function, including the BPO & BID Form ordering system, including authorization, tracking & monitoring.

 Effectively & efficiently manage, operate & control the IT function utilizing necessary internal & external resources.

 Monitor and ensure proper administration of each project, including deadlines and financial performance, from open to closed status.

 Ensure activities are pursued compatible with parent coy’s code of conduct, corporate governance principles, policies & procedures, including compliance with relevant legislations.

 Ensure that goods are purchased, sold and supplied in full conformance with the Company’s Policies & Procedures covering BPO’s, Bid Forms, LPO’s, purchasing, payment & credit terms.

 Where appropriate, and through the Company Sec/Legal Advisor & Division Heads, ensure that each division & business unit meets fully its obligations to its clients under existing and new sales contracts, installations and or Service Agreements at or exceeding WHO, NAPIMS, NCC, MoH, MoE, Mm of Agric, NAFDAC, SON, LASEPA and other relevant statutory agencies standards of quality and regulatory provisions.

 Ensure Trade Debtors and Inventories are properly administered and kept under control in full compliance with the operating policies & procedures and IFRS Accounting Standards, as well as being managed in line with the Annual & Monthly Budgets. Highlight problem

items; determine corrective actions and monitor to ensure satisfactory implementation of same. Report on same in the Monthly Operations Report.

 Liaise effectively with the Company’s Legal & HR Department and the Finance Department function at optimum levels of effectiveness, accuracy and within deadlines, in a manner compatible with enhancing our business performance.

 Ensure effective use and operation of all Company properties, facilities and vehicles in compliance with the relevant Policies & Procedures covering same.

 Ensure that each and every local purchase related transaction concerning the Business Unit conforms fully to the Company’s LPO Policies & Procedures including the securing of approvals as laid down in the Limits of Authority. Act as the primary approving signatory for all LPOs.

 Act as the “secretary” to the Monthly EXCO Meeting ensuring timely convening, attendance as well as timely preparation and distribution of the Agenda & Minutes.

 Undertake any other special projects and tasks as directed from time to time by the MD.

 

Requirement:

 7+ years progressive experience in Field Sales, Purchasing, Operations and, possibly, financial, and man-management.

 An MBA and or Marketing professional qualification would be an added advantage as, while not essential, would fluency in French.

 A relevant degree from a respected University with very high numerate, written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to manage technically oriented products and services.

 Experience within Agricultural & Communications sectors, or those sectors with technical and service oriented customer requirements would be of considerable advantage.

 A well-rounded, proven results oriented, indigenous Business Manager with highly effective general administrative ability supported with strong numeracy, verbal and written communication & presentation skills, across the full range of functions, coupled with a strong personal drive and work ethic, with clear evidence of the highest standards of personal integrity.
