 Our client is a multinational engineering firm that provides operations and maintenance services to firms within the global cement industry.

They require the experience of two plant HR Managers who will manage the HR operations of two of their client’s plants.

Job details – Plant HR Manager

Overall Mission

 Proactively manage the organisation and Human Resources of the plant, in order to provide and develop an effective workforce meeting both short and long term needs

 Create and maintain a positive work environment and prevent social conflicts developing network and adequate communication with employees and measuring social climate regularly

 Efficiently manage all HR issues of the plant and provide support, coaching and technical expertise to plant manager, line managers and the HR team members

 

Main Activities

O & HR Policy definition and planning

 Propose and implement a three years Operation and HR plan that sustains the business orientations of the plant and supports the industrial production plan by a proactive management of skills and workforce

 Define and propose HR policies for the plant: recruitment, training and development, career management, reward, industrial and social relations H & S and communication

 Propose new organisations – or optimise current ones; share best practices with other HR plant managers. Identify means necessary to implement new organisations and support plant leadership in change management

 

Personal Administration

 Supervise personnel Administration and payroll for the site, ensuring on- time delivery, accuracy of information provided and legal compliance (especially for payroll, annual social statements, and individual contracts

 Identify areas of improvement in administrative procedure and implement appropriate solutions in order optimise costs, time and accuracy of the work handled.

 

Plant HR Operations

People Management of non – executive employees

 Recruit suiting profiles in order to build high level teams

 Organise induction and training session and ensure that they are carried out

 Follow individual career progression and implement adequate skills development plans

 Ensure individual performance evaluation by managers

 Ensure consistency and follow-up of salary decisions

 

O & HR Support

 Provide line managers with methodology (e.g team working) and tools, in order to help them efficiently manage their team and organisation

 Assist managers with day-to-day support in all HR issues

 Organise training sessions for managers on Human Resources management issues (e.g, coaching, individual performance evaluation)

 

Industrial relations

 Prepare consultation with the company's client’s plant HR, guaranteeing that they are conducted in accordance with legal requirements and providing data and arguments for specific issues (e.g annual salary consultations)

 Assist the plant manager or lead meetings with unions and employee representatives

 Establish and maintain good relationships with employee representatives; handle grievances and questions of union/work council’s employee representatives in relation with working conditions. H&S

 In case of conflicts, identify and implement adequate solutions that protect the plant’s interests

 

Internal and external communication

 Develop and encourage internal communication; create network and maintain good relationship within the plant, adapting communication tools to each one; help the plant manager in the internal communication actions

 Develop external communication; create and maintain relationship with the community and promote the company's image by participating to local events/initiatives

 Promote the company's values and culture within the plant

 

Social Climate

 Measure social climate in plant in order in order to prevent tensions and conflicts

 Create a strong/positive climate and maintain high level morale via all necessary communication and animation tools

 

Health & Safety

 Promote Health & Safety policies within the plant

 Assure that legal authorisations and licenses are recorded, in line with the procedures and are up-to-date

 

Compensation & Benefits

 Analyse external competitiveness of compensation and benefits and manager salary budget

 

Classification

 Establish and maintain/update classification of jobs for the plant, in line with the company's job classification system

 

Plant O&HR function coordination

 Organise, structure, co-ordinate and efficiently manage the OHR team of the plant; set key goals, ensure their following-up and measure achievement

 Manage the implementation of HR software systems in the plant if applicable; ensure efficient use of system by the HR team and managers; establishe interfaces with existing local databases

 Ensure reporting of Org& HR plant activities and results (especially for the org & HR review) regularly review KPI’s results and implement corrective actions when and where necessary

 Share O&HR plant practises with the partner company’s HR network and participate to the partner company’s projects and initiatives in order to create synergies

 

Performance Criteria

 Ensure that labour laws and regulations are respected

 Ensure that the people employed match the job requirements

 Ensure that the personnel development processes are adequate (relevant and coherent)

 Ensure good relations with workplace representatives and management committee

 Ensure good plant’s internal communication

 Ensure that corporate HR policy, procedures and regulations are complied with

 Help improve working methods by taking into account the human factor for personnel management

 

Qualification and experience.

Qualified candidate should have minimum of 7 years experience in plant HR management
