DIMENSIONS OF THE JOBEgina is a deep offshore development located in block OML130 in Nigeria operated by TOTAL Upstream Nigeria Limited. The development is located 150 km from the coast in 1,550m water depth and includes a spread moored FPSO of 240 POB, associated offloading calm buoy, 2 productions loops connecting six subsea manifolds with 21 production wells and 3 injection lines connecting 23 water injection wells through 52 km of flowlines. An additional 20km gas export line ties in to the Akpo export pipeline to Amenam. Production is 200 kBPD of oil, 456 kBPD of water and 127 mmscfd of gas export capacity.Risers are SHR (single hybrid risers) types, connected to the FPSO via unbonded flexible jumpers (12 off: production, gas lift, water injection and gas export).The offloading lines (2 off) are large bore unbonded flexible type (20.5-in), transferring the stabilized oil to the buoy located at 2km from
the FPSO.Contract was awarded in April 2013. The management of the Egina integrated project is located in Lagos, supported (as necessary) by a core of specialists based at Lagos and other locations and including a dedicatedteam for inspection of UFR packages equipment at vendors premises (mostly Europe). The EWT Construction Supervisor is based in EWT yard in Port Harcourt. The position is non-rotational.

ACTIVITIESThe job holder has the overall responsibility for the UFR onshore construction activities in EWT (Nestoil) yard related to Structural and piping components. These include the following:134 off Long Bases Line (LBL) positioning system,22 off pig launchers and receivers,9 OLT pile elements,Supports and installation aids.The holder of the position shall in particular be responsible for:All structural steel prefabrication, assembly, erection, NDE, PWHT and dimensional controls as per qualified procedures including primary steel members, secondary steel, platforms to equipment, installation aids and painting in accordance with Approved For Construction (AFC) drawings, applicable Codes and Standards and Specifications.Supervising the team of EWT personnel dedicated to the scope of work.Reviewing and validating onshore EWT's organisation required to supervise these onshore construction
activities.Reviewing and analysing EWT's construction schedule and providing feedback to the ConstructionSuperintendent.Assessing the suitability or otherwise of EWT-assigned workforce in order to provide early warnings regarding construction schedule.Assessing the suitability, availability or otherwise of EWT-assigned equipment and materials required for construction activities.Ensuring appropriate coordination and seamless interface with EWT's FPSO onshore construction in order to create room for resources optimization.Coordinating the activities of the MWS for the load out of the OLT Piles and other applicable scopes.Assisting and taking part in all UFR load-out operations at EWT's yard as may be required.Ensuring that as-built dossiers comply with all QA/QC requirements.Providing weekly and monthly EWT construction updates to the Construction Superintendent.Taking part in daily, weekly and monthly
progress review meetings as may be required.Providing inputs to the Construction Superintendent to assist him in the preparation of the UFR close-out reports for the construction activities operations.Liaising with the SCNL UFR Construction Superintendent on a routine basis for the resolution of outstanding issue(s), if any.Providing feedback to the Construction Superintendent on the required level and quality of personnel at any point in time, in order to manage mobilisation and demobilisation of CPY site personnel dedicated to the fabrication scope at EWT.

HSEContributes to meet UFR HSE objectives while ensuring HSE requirements are taken into consideration during the construction phase to minimize risk to people and Company/contractor assets, at any time during the project phase.Demonstrates leadership for implementation of Company HSEQ requirements and ensure on construction site the set up of the correct organization, that EWT implements properly the HSE plan on the Construction Yards, the proper monitoring and recording of HSE performance of the sites.Ensures that safe working practices are carried out within the construction team and EWT in order to preventa breach of Company HSEQ policy.Provides construction inputs to the Construction Superintendent for UFR risks register update along with all mitigation measures, in close coordination with CTR and CPY construction teams.Participates in various reviews (COMOPS, SIMOPS, HAZIDs, HAZOPs, Project Technical
Reviews, RiskAssessments...) and ensures implementation of recommendations as necessary.Facilitates and participates in safety tours and Management visits as defined by UFR.ACCOUNTABILITIESDirectly responsible of all onshore constructions matters within his discipline package.With strict adherence to HSSEQ standards, the job holder is responsible for ensuring that fabrication activitiesare completed as per approved schedule and quality.

QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE REQUIREDChartered Engineer or similar education level, with a sound Oil & Gas technical background (multi-discipline)in deep offshore construction.Minimum of 10 years working experience in an Oil and Gas industry with a strong background in subsea construction activities.Good knowledge of international subsea design codes / standards and COMPANY general specifications.Proven background in improving quality, procedures, planning, coordination, organization and productivity of the contractors he supervises.A self-motivated natural leader with excellent communication and delegation skills.Credible working relationships within multicultural teams.Fluency in English both oral and written.Passionate about maintaining high standards.Excellent work ethic and must be able to withstand fast-paced high pressure working environments.

Our client, an International Operator Company has an opportunity for a Preservation Supervisor to work on a fix term project on a contract basis in Nigeria.



The Preservation must have extensive knowledge of Materials, tools and equipment preservation.

Extensive knowledge of the international oil exploration industry, including technical and operational standards and practices.

The Preservation Supervisor must have experience in Materials, tools and equipment preservation and prevention.

Qualifications and experience 

The relevant candidate must have a minimum of 15 years in Oil and Gas production operations.

Strong knowledge of construction and logistics would be desirable.

English speaking mandatory.





SERVICE DESCRIPTION - Rotating Machine Superintendent


To follow-up the Construction and associated pre-commissioning activities related to Nigerian Content (NC) packages, up to end of Construction and load-out/integration works. Ensure that fabrication is in accordance with the design.

To ensure that all construction activities related to his discipline are performed safely and efficiently in line with company objectives.

To oversee the activities of all site teams within his discipline to ensure that all technical, contractual and cost information is properly recorded, collated and available for inspection/reference as required by company policy.

To identify deficiencies and develop solutions to identified construction problems.

Reviews of vendor's documents and verify/check rotating machine arrived at workshop.

Comments on the contractor documents related to his discipline in due time. Review and comment site queries related to electrical works and co-ordinate the response with electrical engineer leader.

Monitor QC activities within his discipline

To manage construction interfaces within his discipline with others (engineering, other sub-projects, commissioning) arbitrating between different disciplines, the only criterion being the overall good of the project.

To maintain good relationships with contractors, being relatively flexible, proactive but also strict when necessary to achieve the objectives of the project.

To ensure that safety remains the main priority on the construction site at all times and attend the toolbox meetings

To ensure that the construction yards are provided with suitable information in line with requirements (technical & schedule), troubleshooting any technical problems that could affect construction/ fabrication.

To identify critical activities and potential bottlenecks for the progress of the works.

To inform periodically to Construction Yard Representative about the progress activities and area of concern.

To prepare or help to prepare reports for company, partners, and authorities as required.


To stay vigilant and maintain continuous awareness of hazards and surroundings.

To participate to local programs or initiatives to improve HSSE performances.

To report to Management on any issue they may face or observe and propose way of improvement.

To also take care of colleagues safety and behavior without hesitating to intervene as much as necessary.

To carefully assess hazards and risks when changes occur. 

To give his own input and making sure the workplace is safe (obviously clean and tidy).

When in doubt, ask questions to gain clarification.

Qualification :   B.Sc. Instrumentation Engineering

Professional Experience: More than 10 Years solid working experience in instrumentation jobs in Oil & Gas

Experience with instrumentation works: 5 years

Proven leadership capabilities with strong organizational and coordination abilities

Autonomous, self motivating and active team player

Oral and written fluency in English mandatory, working knowledge of French appreciated and Microsoft Office proficient
