Job description

The Technical Sales Support Engineer will be responsible for maximizing sales of the company’s products and services within a region. The Technical Sales Support Engineer will have a regular and productive contact with customers and customer representatives and is often actively involved in the result of the sales.

The Technical Sales Support Engineer will report to the Sales Manager and Location Manager.

This position is based in Takoradi.

• Identifies sales leads and closes them
• Provide technical sales and decision support that help sell drill bits and services
• Prioritizes actions and plans ahead for sales opportunities.
• Monitors and maintains sales pipeline in CRM (Customer Relationship Management) system.
• Ensures that customer problems arising from sales are responded to and appropriately managed.
• Establishes relationships with customer contacts.
• Regularly visits field sites to follow up on jobs that were sold, and consult with the customer and other stakeholders.
• Maintains integrity in all words and actions ensuring ethics, quality and HSE.
• Performs basic account profiling and planning.
• Creates an action on approved sales plan for assigned account(s).
• Coordinates scheduling with the service delivery organization as required.
• Uses sales systems, and meets training standards.
• Provide product recommendations and process orders.
• Provide technical presentations of the product to the client.
• Troubleshooting product performance in the field.
• Gather records for entry into Drilling Records System
• Needs to assist and keep up with the entire districts inventory.
• Help maintain a solid team environment.
• Needs to be able to adapt on a daily basis and take on special projects as they occur.
• Ability to develop and deliver presentations.
• Seek out new opportunities constantly with both stand-alone and chain accounts within established region.
• Must have basic financial understanding to be able to forecast monthly revenue numbers.



• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering or Science
• 3-5 years working experience in drill bits sales
• Must have worked in a related environment or conversant with this sector
• Must be initiative and a self-driver.
• Good communication skills both verbally and written.
• Must have good leadership skills and team work.
