Description

 

- Specific to the Citi franchise in Nigeria and in line with Central Bank of Nigeria policy requirement, formally perform the role of Chief Information Officer by formulating IT Strategy on the Bank’s Information Technology direction and compliance as well as analyzing and reworking existing business processes in order to shape, drive, and deliver the bank’s strategic objectives.

- Direct all organizational capacity planning activities within the technology domain covering the Citi West Africa sub-cluster covering for Citi in Nigeria, Ghana, Cote d’Ivoire, and Senegal. This includes hardware capacity forecasting, planning, staffing and infrastructure utilization monitoring; make recommendations on hardware, operating systems, software enhancements/upgrades, and people placement.

- Manage technology staff across the Citi West Africa sub-cluster.

- Ensure appropriate organizational and staffing control within the technology function in the Citi West Africa sub-cluster with required segregation of duties and dual controls where necessary.

- Hire, develop, motivate and oversee the organization, staffing, development and personnel administration for the technology function across the Citi West Africa sub-cluster.

- Manage and control finances for Technology in Citi West Africa sub-cluster – budget. Plan and budget for the organization, equipment and staffing to meet the business technology requirements.

- Maintain continued focus on Citi West Africa sub-cluster business expense base cutting through promotion of automation, process improvement, and cost-saving technologies.

- Plan, organize, monitor and control the usage of desktop applications, personal computers, servers, local area networks, and telecommunications facilities in Citi West Africa sub-cluster. Organize and control the development of PC- and server-based systems to support customer service, workflow efficiency and the conduct of other business objectives in Citi West Africa sub-cluster.

- Ensure that routine technology operations in Citi West Africa sub-cluster are conducted in consonance with corporate policies and procedures to the extent of maintaining acceptable audit standards. This includes ensuring full audit compliant compliance state at all times. - Plan and implement all technology projects and non-routine efforts in Citi West Africa sub-cluster. This involves process reengineering, management, and implementation. Ensure project documentation is maintained in line with institutional standards.

- Formulate technology objectives and strategies consistent with business goals, strategies and mission statement across in Citi West Africa sub-cluster. Focus on streamlining, optimization, and continual improvement of Technology infrastructure and systems used by the businesses in Citi West Africa sub-cluster. Have a thorough understanding of business drivers and dynamics thereby ensuring an optimized operations environment and technology support that is scaleable according to business needs. Plan for the effective achievement of these objectives.

- Ensure that technology facilities support customer service and the conduct of business in all branches across the Citi West Africa sub-cluster based on agreed service levels documented all relevant maintenance contracts and SLAs.

- Maintain relationship with all external publics, which include equipment suppliers, maintenance service providers, software support groups, regional engineering and support teams, regulatory authorities to ensure that the business is in touch with technology dynamics and proactively responses to opportunities and threats.

- Understand and enforce compliance and control relating to all relevant regulatory, policy and procedural requirements within the Technology area for the Citi West Africa sub-cluster. Timely inform management of key regulatory changes that impact the technology function.

- Ensure adequate and relevant contingency and disaster recovery plans are maintained and periodically tested with Citi West Africa sub-cluster.

- Provide the interface and infrastructure support for the promotions and sales of electronic banking products and services in Citi West Africa sub-cluster.

- Carry out TTS Ops project coordination role for Africa from Technology side catering to Citi businesses in 14 African countries (Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia, Senegal, Cote d’Ivoire, Nigeria, Cameroun, Gabon, Congo, Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania, Zambia, South Africa). This will cover:

• Support the business requirement preparation, quality review

• Project priority management

• Feasibility study coordination with the respective Africa and Regional teams

• Coordinate the functional specification, design process, recommend the optimal solution

• L0 cost estimation

• Project life cycle coordination, support the project management process from Technology side

• Support and coordinate implementation

Qualifications

 

Education or (Equivalent Training)

- University Degree in relevant discipline and relevant information certification.

- CIO required certifications, skills, competencies as required by the Central Bank of Nigeria

• Banking Operations (Domestic & International Operations)

• Deep Knowledge and Understanding of Information Technology

• Understanding of the business and IT strategy administration

• Project Management Skills

• Supplier Management

• Change Management

 

Experience and Training:

- At least 12 years post qualification experience. 5 years in senior management and not less than 5 years in information technology role.

- Tried and tested knowledge of technology concepts, trends, application to business.

- Able to work independently and in a team.

- With good initiative and judgement.

- People management and leadership skills.

- Demonstrable skills in team building and management. Team-oriented with collegial approach to addressing challenges.
