The National Hospital, Abuja, established under Decree 36 of 1999 [now, Act 36 of 1999], was commissioned on 22 May 1999 by the Former Head of State, His Excellency, General Abdusalami Abubakar, and opened its door to patients on 11th October 1999, when the first baby [female] was delivered.

The Hospital was originally designed to cater for the needs of women and children in Nigeria and the West African sub-region with a view to reduce morbidity and mortality rates, and to carry out extensive research into the peculiar causes of women and children- related diseases in Africa.

National Hospital is recruiting suitably qualified Candidates to fill the Posts of:

Director of Administration

Responsibilities/Duties of Director of Administration

  • Successful Candidates will be responsible for heading the Administration Directorate of the Hospital.
  • Serve as Secretary to the Hospital’s Governing Board
  • Assist in Policy Formulation, Review and Execution
  • Any other duty that may be assigned by the CMD/CEO.

Qualification and Requirements For The Post of Director of Administration

  • Candidates must possess a Degree or its equivalent in any field of Social Sciences/Humanities.
  • Membership of any of the relevant Professional Body in Administration
  • Candidates must have at least 15 years cognate working experience in administration, preferably related to Tertiary Health Institution.
  • Candidates must exhibit evidence of strong administrative leadership.

  15. Names and Addresses of three (3) Referees who are to forward Confidential Reports on the applicant directly to the Office of the Chief Medical Director/CEO. Such Referees should be able to attest to the candidate’s claims of academic and managerial capabilities as well as character.
  16. Present Employment and Post

Invited Candidates MUST be able to support every claim with documentary evidence (where applicable) and also bring along originals of their credentials to the interview.
