Adexen is mandated to recruit a QC Piping/Mechanical Inspector for Nigeria.

The company is a member of the International Institute of Risk and Safety Management (IIRSM), International Marine Contractors Association (IMCA) and Pipeline Professionals’ Association of Nigeria (PLAN).

Job description

The main task of this role is to monitor the pre-fabrication, sub-assembly and erection of piping and mechanical components during onshore fabrication and assembly for alliance at the fabrication yard. Reporting to the Q-HSE Manager, the QC Piping/Mechanical Inspector will ensure the required safety, quality and productivity for assigned projects is achieved in accordance with company Q-HSE guidelines, specifications, international standards and project goals and KPIs.

The responsibilities for this roles are extensive and include but not limited to the following:

• Safety

o Follow Alliance HSE policies and ensure implementation and adherence to Alliance HSE plans as required.

o Promptly report any injuries or incidents that happen in the yard and liaise with Alliance HSE Officer/Specialist

o Proactively lead and participate in HSE activities including the promotion of Behavioural Based Safety

• Quality/Inspections

o Follow Alliance quality procedures and specifications as required for the projects

o Attend weekly project QC meetings and report/document any quality issues together with recommendations for both corrective and preventive actions

o Ensure all records of quality issues are documented correctly and closed out in a timely manner.

• Productivity

o Ensure project schedules are maintained to achieve target completion dates.

o Liaise with project management team when assessing impact of changes.

o Monitor performance and collaborate with management to improve productivity.

• Management & Communication

o Ensure effective communication between and within Alliance team and QC Inspection Services team.

o Lead, coach and evaluate inspectors to improve both technical and reporting skill.

o Provide training and mentorship of national personnel.




The ideal candidate will possess the following qualities:

  • A university degree/professional college qualification related to the oil & gas industry.
  • Minimum of 15 years NDE technician with minimum 5 years in supervisory capacity in fabrication.
  • CSWIP/PCN/ASNT Level III/II UT, RT, MT & PT or equivalent.
  • International working experience and advantage.
  • Experience in managing multidisciplinary teams of diverse cultures and backgrounds.
  • A good knowledge of MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Related safety certifications, courses and training sessions attended.
  • Membership of a relevant professional institution preferred.
