Job Description:

Do you tweet, share, and post to social media in your sleep? Do you know what it takes to grow an online and offline community? We are looking for an amazing cofounder/marketing lead to own the whole marketing funnel of Paruto. You will be a leader on the team responsible for telling the world the Paruto story. You will be expected to be our chief advocate for all of Paruto’s unique features and benefits. Additionally, you will be charged with crafting the strategy around the consistent messaging and marketing of Paruto.


  • Work closely with the Technical Lead for creative design support if and when necessary
  • Build and manage Paruto’s social media profiles and presence, including Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, and additional channels that may be deemed relevant.
  • Create shareable content appropriate for specific networks to spread both our brand and our content (Technical lead can offer support with designs if necessary)
  • Monitor and engage in relevant social discussions about Paruto and run regular social promotions and campaigns and track their success (e.g., Twitter chats, LinkedIn discussions, etc.).
  • Explore new ways to creatively drive consistent, relevant traffic and leads from our social network presence and stay up-to-date with digital marketing trends and potential new channels and strategies to keep us ahead.
  • Connect with influential media outlets and journalists to place stories about Paruto news and other initiatives.
  • Extensively use Paruto and point out flaws when discovered, necessary updates to be made, enhancements to be added, etc
  • Get the buy-in of stakeholders such as local media agencies, journalists, government officials, politicians, organizations, NGOs, citizens etc to localize their stories and news across cities
  • Develop Paruto’s social media marketing strategy; track the right metrics, and integrate the best tools and practices on those platforms
  • Overall be strategic, creative and innovative


  • At the minimum, you should have active Facebook and Twitter accounts. In addition, open a Paruto account at
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent working experience.
  • Past experience producing content for the web specifically, as well as channel-specific knowledge (blog, Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, etc.).
  • Past experience building audiences either online or offline.
  • A dual-minded approach: You’re highly creative and an excellent writer but can also be process-driven, think scale, and rely on data to make decisions.
  • Past experience in digital marketing, product marketing, and/or product management.
  • Prefer working in a collaborative, cross-team capacity. This role requires you to work constantly and interact with other teammates.
  • Skilled in creating, editing, and promoting written and visual content.
  • Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite (particularly Photoshop, illustrator and InDesign) an advantage.
  • Digital marketing certifications an advantage.
